We will win the populists in the next elections, Mitsotakis says

Greece was the first EU country hit by populism and will be the first country that will get rid from the populists and will return to a growth and prosperity course, stated New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressing the 12th congress of the Youth of the European People’s Party that is held in Athens, while he appeared certain that his party will win the next general elections.

Mitsotakis characterised the populism and extremism a threat for Europe and referred to the rise “of the populists of the Left in Greece” in which, as he explained “many Greek voters found refuge and comfort” adding that today they have lost faith, they are troubled and disappointed.

He appeared certain that ND will win the next general elections in Greece and expressed his trust to the open and free markets and to the healthy competitiveness.

Mitsotakis also announced that ND will support Manfred Weber as candidate for the EU presidency.
