Greece and Cyprus, through their close relations with the Arab world, can play a very important role in the security of their wider region, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras noted on Thursday, while meeting Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades in Athens.
Talking to Anastasiades about Greece’s efforts to overcome the crisis, meanwhile, he commented: “You got out of the memorandum first; now it is our turn.”
Regarding the Cyprus issue, Tsipras underlined the need to support a national line calling for a fair and viable solution.
On his part, Anastasiades placed priority on the cooperation of the Eastern Mediterranean countries for a fair and viable solution for Cyprus, while describing the Euro Arab Summit taking place in Athens as “important”.
Anastasiades also noted that the measures being implemented by the Greek government are leading the country in the right direction.
