Young Syrian sets himself on fire to protest confinement on Lesvos

A 26-year-old Syrian was transferred to Mytilene hospital on Thursday after he set himself on fire outside the Moria reception and identification center to protest his extensive confinement on the island, authorities said.

The young man reportedly doused himself in a flammable liquid. He has been hospitalized with burns of several parts of his body but his condition is not serious, sources said.
