Zaev expresses optimism that consensus will be achieved in FYROM over name talks

The prime minister of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Zoran Zaev, expressed optimism on Monday that a consensus will be achieved among political parties in his country over the country’s name in the ongoing negotiations with Greece.

Zaev said that everyone should know that the problem can be resolved, but may also not be resolved. He said the government bears the biggest responsibility but added he is certain the President, the opposition and all the relevant political parties will “have the wisdom” to find a solution which “will safeguard the dignity of our people and our country.”
