The Prime Minister of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (fYROM), Zoran Zaev, expressed again his expectation that the name dispute with Greece will be closed in the first half of 2018.
“I believe that this issue can be closed by the end of the first half of 2018. My optimism is based on the willingness of both sides to be free of prejudice and discuss all issues, and all solutions that will imply the improvement of relations, which are in the interest of the citizens of both countries. And I believe that we will achieve this by fully preserving our dignity,” Zaev said in an interview to be published in Tuesday’s “Nezavisen”.
“The citizens will reward us more for our bravery and faith in the perspective and the future, rather than for the possible setbacks if we remain stuck in the past,” he added.
