Greek National Basketball Team celebrated winning third place in the Eurobasket 2025 tournament, after playing exceptionally for most of the game against Finland yesterday, Sunday September 14th.
The Greek team endured Finland’s pressure in the final minutes and claimed the bronze medal at Arena Riga with 92–89.
A team that faced enormous doubt, that many believed its ceiling was the quarterfinals, that endured endless criticism after the semifinal elimination by Turkey, once again lifted Greece onto the podium for the first time in 16 years!
“Greece, we love you, and tonight we’ll wear the bronze!” shouted the “Pelicans” from the stands. And Vassilis Spanoulis’ players wrote the perfect ending in Latvia, celebrating the bronze as if it were gold!
